Lee Hazlewood- I'll Be Your Baby Tonight

Another great, hard to come by, album from Lee's time in Sweden. Has a song from "13" and one from "Requiem For An Almost Lady" and more in that vein. As you can guess, it's a damn good listen.

2) She Comes Running
3) Stone Lost Child
4) I'll Be Your Baby Tonight (featuring Ann-Kristin Hedmark
5) Urge For Going
6) Taxi
7) Paris Song
8) A Better Place To Be

Lee Hazlewood- A House Safe For Tigers

Just saw that this sold for a ridiculous sum on ebay, which is incredibly frustrating. So, for those of you, like me, who can't throw down a few hundred dollars for a record, here is yet another great and rare Hazlewood record. Come to think of it, does Lee have any records that aren't great and rare?
These are cold hard times, indeed.

Deleted link: Light In The Attic Records just did a fantastic reissue...got my vinyl with giant poster and extensive liner notes today.  Definitely worth buying.

Another collection of low-key downerish, with a sense of humor, cheesy goodness. Lee can do no wrong...

2) What's More, I Don't Need Her
3) The Night Before
4) The Bed
5) Paris Bells
6) Wait Till Next Year
7) September Song
8) Let's Burn Down The Cornfield
9) Bye Babe
10) Mary

Lee Hazlewood- Greyhound Bus Depot/Trouble Maker

A rare (for what reason?) single from 1969.
Great stuff...both sides (both covers). If you've ever wanted to give a puppy to a woman with chili all over her dress or crucify a hippy, this record is for you.

Lee Hazlewood- 98% American Mom & Apple Pie 1929 Crash Band

Tack piano, clacky percussion, frantic kazoos, and extra cheese make these instrumental (except for laughing) Vaudeville inspired versions of Hazlewood hits an extremely enjoyable listen, with many happy returns.
Just can't get enough Hazlewood...

Lee Hazlewood- Love and Other Crimes

Another great one from the King of Dark Cheese.
More people these days need to catch the Hazlewood bug. I am more than happy to infect them.

Lee Hazlewood- Trouble is a Lonesome Town

One of my favorites for so many reasons.
Lee's solo debut begins to show the promise shown by his writing and production for Duane Eddy. The songs are a little more stripped down than what would follow and every song is prefaced by a story of a town called Trouble. As always, Hazlewood delivers deceptively simple, oh so cheesy, subtly brainy, reverby baritone, fun to sing along to goodness.
If you aren't won over on the first listen, just give him some time to creep under your skin. He'll never leave.
More Hazlewood posts coming soon...

WARNING:
where I dowloaded this, for some reason "Son Of A Gun" was not included. I have included that song, from my mono LP.

Duane Eddy- Yep/Three-30-Blues

Another from my Dad's collection of old 45's that has been a favorite of mine for a long long time. I was lucky enough to get a hold of his Duane Eddy collection at a young age and I consider Duane Eddy as an integral part of my love of instrumental music.
Another reason I love this 45 is the way it jumps out of the speakers and you can still hear it unamplified, which unfortunately is lost in the digital transfer.
Once I got into Lee Hazlewood in college I was surprised to learn that he had written many songs early on for Duane Eddy and "Yep!" oozes with that wonderful Hazlewood cheesyness. It's not to hard to imagine his reverb drenched baritone over this one. I may be wrong, but I think he may have played a part in Eddy's aquarium tank echo system.
A great well balanced single.
